How do I kill a weasel or mink that's getting into my chicken coop?
Were pretty sure that it's either a weasel or a mink that's getting into my chicken coop, biting the heads off of my chickens, and leaving the rest. By the way I live in NJ.

- i wouldn't care what the laws are in your area, i would buy some havahart traps, and stakeout with a .22 or .17 HMR at the same time. i don't know what weasels eat but you can just google it. know if you trap them, you have to kill them in the trap or they will just come back again sooner or later. these animals are not that big but still, aim for the head.
- i suggest you put a trap in your coop then when u have caught it put it out of its misery
- Contact your game warden about the problem & they may loan you a live trap w/proper bait. O'possums are bad for getting chickens but they usually eat the entrails and leave the rest of the bird alone. Good luck.
- Set up a snare trap - we have dosens round our farm & ther great 4 foxes, badgers & the like
- how many times are you going to ask this question before you realize that you are getting the same answers.....you are getting to be a pest with this issue.....enough already
- PLEASE RE-READ the answers you have ALREADY gotten with your 4+ questions like this one. People have already given you good answers to those past questions.
- Hav-a hart, tuna bucket of water large enough to put the trap in after you catch the weasel No holes in the pelt that way
- Please reread all the great answers....to your numerous questions...... If you take pictures of your chicken coop and wire fences around the coop of your chicken yard.....it will help......Use glue traps where you think he is coming in. Use a small cage trap available at hardware stores, farm or tractor stores....and bait with bloody meat. I would leave a few chickens out at night in a small cage and put glue traps around it............... You must lock up your chickens at night in a chicken house with NO holes open. All vent holes need heavy rat wire............ http://www.havahart.com/store/live-animal-traps/0745
- i would say set up traps and shoot the little bugger
- you could get some .22Lr rat shot
- shoot it if you can if you dont have that option then make some pancakes and cover them with antifreeze just make sure your pets dont have access to it it will kill the lil bugger!
