What are some remedies for chicken pox?
My little brother is five and and a few days ago he got chicken pox. He has a bad rash around his entire body This is around his 4th day having them. He has some in his mouth as well, and is constantly complaining. Is there anything that will help make him better?

- i think there is none
- put calamine lotion on the outside sores and see his doctor for treatment for the ones in his mouth. There is no cure though, so you just have to wait it out. Good luck!
- oatmeal bath.........once a day..........whole box of instant or a whole tin of it. this will greatly sooth it. put it in as hot of water that he can stand without being uncomfortable or burning him
- I had them as an adult, and it was horrible. About all that helped were those oatmeal baths, but even that was temporary. Come to think of it... the best part was drying off with a towell... Hmm... I think it's great that you're so concerned about your little brother. Just spend time with him, hold him (if he can take it), and get him some ice cream or his favorite treats. About the best you can do is keep him distracted. ...maybe play a game with him! What a great sister you are...
- the frst and foremost if heaa has them in tongue they arent chicken pox rather measles...............................consulat a good doctor and ask you bro not to meddle with the lesions and measles at all as they will leave a scar forever.............................................and there is nothing to be really scared of asthey are very common and occur to evrevryone.....................and will leave an inmmunity agains poxes and measles almos forever
- only time will make it go away. Its a virus. oatmeal soap baths, some prescription anti-itch meds, or a benadryl may help ease the discomfort. be careful, adults can get shingles from chicken pox exposure! they re all part of the herpe virus
- you cant cure or prevent it. its caused by epstein barr virus and can lead to shingles. but if its in his mouth it isnt chicken pox, SEEK PROPER MEDICAL ADVICE! however if the mouth sores are unrelated and it is chicken pox at least you can only get it once
- Try to make him as comfortable as possible. Some lotions may ease the itching some. Don't pick at the scabs or they will leave scars. If you have any more kids, get them vaccinated. They don't have to go through this anymore.
- have you taken him to the doctor and had it diagnosed as chicken pox? good if you have, my Lil boy of 3 has just gotten over chicken pox there is alot of it around and best to get it youngest as possible because if u receive it when you are an adult it causes u to have bad cheast problems. the best thing to do is give him piraton allergy medicine(in syrup as children tend not to like pills) as it has an antihistamine in it which will relive the itching also good this time of year for hay fever also apply camomile's lotion on them to sooth the itching you can get both from your local pharmacy even boos or tesco. but my other advice is if you haven't taken him to a doctor then def take him as it is rare to get chicken pox inside the mouth and because he is complaining alot he may have a different infection such as measles. hope this helps you and hope your Lil brother gets better soon xxx
