  1. Take him into the doctor! There's TONS more out there than when we were kids and some of it is REALLY nasty. If it turns out to be chicken pox, try giving an oatmeal bath or a baking soda bath. Put 1c of oatmeal into the bath water or 1/4 c baking soda. It will help the itch.
  2. Most babies are vaccinated for Chicken Pox, are you sure it is Chicken Pox? I would go see your pediatrician ASAP. In the mean time you can give him an oatmeal bath to help with sooth him.
  3. I wouldn't mess around with diagnosing a 1-yr. old with chicken pox unless he has recently been in contact with kids who definitely did have them. Take him to the doctor ASAP. This is not an ordinary age for a child to get chicken pox.
  4. Boil water with neem leaves in it keep the water for cooling and give bath to your baby with this.Normally after 13 days the bubbles will start drying.at this time baby will have irritation thru out the body. use the same leaves at this time and rub the body softly instead of scraching
  5. Oatmeal baths, calamine lotion with benadryl in it and oral benadryl. Put luke warm water in the tub and dump about 2 cups of oatmeal .... yes, the kind you eat.... in, swish it around and put the child in it. Then just scoop and drizzle it over their little body. If the water cools down add more warm water. It is very soothing. Pat dry when done then put on the calamine lotion. An oral dose of Benadryl helps too. I have really dry skin in the winter and I will soak in an oatmeal bath. When my youngest had the chicken pox I put her in an oatmeal bath. I would just scoop it up and let it run over her. I let her stay in as long as she wanted. A few minutes into the bath she looked at me really puzzled and asked if she had to eat the oatmeal when we were done.
