13 month old...am i feeding him alright?
he has 2 8 oz bottles of whole milk a day, the rest is water. breakfast is usually a dry eggo waffle, pancakes, oatmeal, or eggs. snacks are throughout the day, graham crackers, wheat saltines, cheese, fruit, or cheerios lunch is usually fruit, grilled cheese, quesadilla, dry toast, or turkey dogs dinner is whatever we are eating, homemade pot pie, pot roast, chicken (he only likes it dipped in ketchup), spaghetti, etc. the problem is...he refuses veggies and loves (wheat) breads and cheeses. the only way he will eat veggies is if i hide them in a casserole or cream sauce. is this bad? i have tried everything and i just feel he has an unbalanced diet...what do you think?

- I think that you are doing a great job :) It seems that you are trying to get him all of the food groups which is good, if he continues to refuse the veggies than I would just continue to hide them in his food, I'm sure he will come around eventually. Maybe until then you could make sure that he is taking some sort of vitamin to make sure that he is getting most of the nutrients that he NEEDS anyway. Good luck !!
- I give my toddler V8 Splash with lunch and dinner. Its a full serving of veggies in every 8 oz. cup.
- I think you are doing well too. and the V-8 idea and vitamin advice is right as well. I would suggest creamed vegetable soups too. Do you have a blender? Just boil up some nice chicken with a nice broth and carrots, celery, and maybe add some barley. When it is all cooked to tender put it through the blender. Cook to your taste and he should love the soup. I use my blender to get my husband to eat veggies he should. Tsk Tsk I would suggest keeping breads and cheeses to a minimum because it can lead to obesity and don't start sugars or soft drinks into his diet. I am proud of you for being such a caring mother.
- sounds like your doing a good job. Atleast he's eating healthy. When I was 1 I would eat twice a day... Both times fastfood :| I had a lazy mom.
- I think the whole milk is great. I also think that you should still incorporate some formula because they have a lot of the nutrients required for growth that's missing in regular milk. (mom and cousins told me -all nurses and have kids) Also, water is great but some juice helps too with vitamins and minerals... You are doing really great and hiding veggies are key for kids since the minute they see it, it is a no go. So it's better to fool them into getting their necessities.
