  1. You definitely need more healthy vegetables as side dishes. Try steamed or raw carrots (kids love to dip carrot sticks in dressing), broccoli, cauliflower, and salads made with raw spinach. I would also ditch some of the "junk" sides, such as chips, tater tots, and fries. Instead of making regular fries, you can make baked sweet potato fries. They're really easy, taste great, and much healthier than regular fries. Finally, I see a lot of junk on the list - brownies, cupcakes, Popsicles, cake, ice cream, pudding, etc. Those things should be treats that should be served for very rare special occasions, not everyday fare. Cut those off the list and replace them with more fresh fruits and vegetables, whole wheat crackers, natural salsa, low fat cheese (string cheese would be good), and hummus.
  2. here is a dish that my family loves: Hamburger corn rice. lol long name. here is how to make it: youll need one pound hamburger meat, one can of sweet whole corneal corn, one box of Uncle Ben's Long Grain Wild Rice. Cook the meat in one pan, brown and drain. Start the rice in a different pan, cook it to the directions on the back of the box. when the meat is done, add the corn and heat on low. when the rice is done add the rice slowly to the meat and corn and let heat on low for another few minutes. stir it all up to where the meat, corn and rice are all mixed. it goes great with a salad. I hope you enjoy it! im so making this tonight. its my hubby's favorite
