Would this crockpot chicken recipe work? (sprite and bbq sauce)?

It would 3-5 lbs of chicken and needs enough sauce to soak in. I wondered if just these two ingredients would work and how much of the sauce I would need - I was thinking 1 1/2 to 2 of sprite and one (or 1 1/2) bottle of bbq sauce.

1. I don't know about the sprite. I've cooked chicken with coca cola in a clay pot before, and that was absolutely awesome. and yeah, i'd throw some bbq sauce in. not tooo much, as it can be overpowering and then that's all you taste.
2. The purpose of the Sprite is to soak the chicken in it overnight to remove any gaminess that might be in the dark meat so it has a nice clean flavor. Then add the BBQ sauce to the chicken a few minutes before it's done.
