My fellow Democrats, how would you react if a singer from Illinois acted like the Dixie Chicks re:Bush?
In other words, what if she said she was ashamed that the President of the United States was from Illinois? Assume that you are a fan of this singer. Would you: A) Refuse to listen to any of her music again B) Lose respect for her as a person, but still listen to her music C) Not let it affect you at all because everyone's entitled to their opinions D) Other truth seeker: imagine that you already have bought her music. truth seeker: imagine that you already have bought her music.
Public Comments
- B or D... I wouldn't care. Their political opinions are not the reasons I was listening to their music anyways. I don't know if I would lose respect for them or not, it depends on how they say it and why.
- D. I would START buying her music , just like I did when the Dixie Chicks spoke the truth.
- Other -laugh my ass off.
- I could care less. Just like Etta James... she bad mouthed Obama... free speech. Still love her.
- That would just drive more Democrats to go out and by music from some no talent knucklehead like Kanye West.
- Only hope she would be as cute as the Dixie Chicks!

- I certainly wouldn't lead a national boycott and host cd burning parties. I expect partisan dissent in every city. And they have a right to free speech. D) I'd hear her out, see if there's any merit to the view, but if it was totally contrary to my world view I'd probably be less inclined to listen to her music.
- I think the Dixie Chicks suck to begin with....so I'd ignore them either way. If someone worth listening to came out on the Right Wing....I wouldn't care. I saw the comedian Dennis Miller a few years back, and he was still somewhat funny, and he's right wing. It's great to be liberal though....cause really, what half decent artist is Republican? Ted Nugent? Nope, I said half decent. You'd go insane trying to listen to only conservative artists though...

- D.) I listen to music for the music, not because of what they're political beliefs are.
- Well, in Bush's case, they turned out to be right.
- I tend to ignore the political positions of the bands I am a fan of. I don't listen to political music either. I didn't care what that girl had to say as, far as having the right to her own opinion. What really rubbed me the wrong way was her rudeness and attitude. ( I am not a fan of the band, or of Bush )
