Can you get chicken pox from the vaccine?

My son had the vaccine for chilcken pox and five days later came down with a low grade fever, head ache, lethergy and about 6-8 small bumps on his back. Looks just like chicken pox, but could be a bug bite, I guess. Has anyone ever heard of someone actually contracting the desease right after getting the vaccine? I know that some people have gotten the disease way later when they were exposed to it, but I want to know specfically if you know of anyone getting chicken pox right after the vaccine?

  1. Because varicella (chickenpox) is a live, weakened virus, about 1 percent of those who receive this vaccine will develop a chickenpox rash, which is a significantly milder form of chickenpox than if it develops naturally.
