Do you have a chicken-n-rice recipe like mom used to make?

She used a whole cut-up chicken, not just the breasts and cooked the chicken and rice together in a pot. Does anybody have a recipe like that to share? Thanks.

A really easy and surprisingly delicious way is to roast the chicken parts first till falling off the bone, then put a few cups or so of cooked fluffy rice in a baking dish, top with chicken, then top with plenty of cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup, and bake. The soups make a delicious gravy for the rice and it is such a comfort food.
  2. It seems to me that you know the recipe allready. Just put 1 cut-up chicken whith 1 cup of rice, 4 cups of water, 50 ml olive oil, salt and black pepper. You may [optional] add if you want 1 onion , 1 carrot and a little curry, but I would choose not to...
  3. Saute diced onion, celery, and carrots in a tbsp of oil. Add 3 cups chicken broth, 1 cup rice, and diced chicken. Salt and Pepper to taste. Bring to a boil, lower heat, and cover. Simmer over low heat for 1 hour. You can also add a can of cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup for creamier chicken and rice.
