What makes buffalo sauce for chicken wings taste like buffalo sauce?
What I mean is I try making my own recipes, using hot peppers, vinegar and misc other ingredients, but I can never ever ever make it have that 'buffalo' flavor. It's hard to describe what I mean, but what ingredients are put in buffalo wing sauce to have that flavor? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I owe user 'J' an answer for a previous question of mine too about a wing sauce he recommended, but it's missing that 'buffalo' flavor.

- The secret ingredient to restaurant style buffalo sauce is a minute amount of tomato base, (paste, ketchup, sauce) used as a binder and a thickener. and many restaurants will blend chilled buffalo sauce with butter flavorered oil or melted butter to enhance the flavor and mellow the acidity of the brines and acids. The most commonly used are Frank's Hot Sauce or Texas Pete's. Try this: 1 two ounce bottle tobasco sauce, original three tablespoons tomato paste two tablespoons melted butter whisk paste and tobasco until smooth, melt butter and slowly stir into tobasco mixture good luck
