How long do you carry chicken pox after exposure?
I was exposed to chicken pox on Monday afternoon. I do not have any symptoms, but my business partners son has a severe immune system problem and if he is exposed he may die. I was wondering how long after exposure do you no longer carry any trace of the virus? Help, please, I have to work in 9-1/2 hours?!?!

- your whole life...if you've had chicken pox theres a small possibility of 'shingles' (what happens to 'pox' after it sits in your system it's whole life.) But may only be contagious for about a wk after exposure. I doubt that you'll carry it to your bosses son. I too have an auto immune disease and if I were to pick up everything someone else had, I would have been dead a million times over by now...so wash your hands, don't cough on your boss, don't bleed on him/her and I think it'll be Ok..
- 14 days it could be longer
- Patients with chickenpox are contagious for 1-2 days before the rash appears and continue to be contagious until all the blisters are crusted over (usually 6-8 days). Granny
- 3 wks
- One of the symptoms of chicken pox is fever and the appearance of some red spots on your body.Chicken pox will only last for a week after youve affected by it;but if you want to be cured right away;theres a meds. that can be buy now .Ask to your nearest pharmacy about it.Theres an oral and a lotion to cure chicken pox . Chicken pox will also affect even to those who are immunized but not a lot compared to those who were not immunized.
