Fan in a reptile incubator?

We just got a new incubator that came with a fan built into it. However I was reading on the box and it said that air should NOT get to reptile eggs. Is this true or can we still use it? Right now we are doing dragon and leo eggs.. How many of you used one with a fan and still had the eggs hatch? Thanks

  1. I breed bearded dragons and don't use a fan. I'm thinking the fan is for chicken eggs
  2. You don't say how you contain the eggs in your incubator. All of mine are incubated in a plastic shoe box, no holes, with a lid, so air movement is not an issue. If the temps stay stable in the box without using the fan, then you don't need to use it. What type of incubator did you get? Fans are used to keep hotspots from forming and shouldn't hurt the eggs as long as your humidity is correct.
