Why do people buy chicken wings instead of just buying chicken strips?

Like many of you may have seen, Yahoo has a video online today that shows "The best way to eat chicken wings." Instead of eating the meat off the bone, it recommends sliding the bones out first and then eating it. Regardless of how anyone eats their chicken wings, why don't people just buy boneless chicken strips or nuggets? Seems like it would be much easier and more practical.

  1. i like eating the wings. for some reason i dont think the boneless is the same. maybe its the texture. or the way it is in your mouth, how you have to bite and twist to get the meat off the bone. maybe its human instinct to use our canines left over from the cavemen days. might take a few more milleniums for us evolve where boneless meat is what we prefer.
  2. Chicken strips and chicken nuggets are usually processed junk. Things these days are all supposed to be more convenient but when they do it to food it just gets messed up, perfect example:seedless watermelons, JUNK!, sorry that was kind of off topic but anyway. I think when it comes to food (at least for me) I want the stuff that hasn't really been tampered with and messed up, I prefer sunflower seeds with the shell rather than the pits. This is just my answer to the question, there may be a more professional answer but this is just why I eat wings instead of strips or nuggets, why I eat regular ribs instead of boneless.
  3. probably because when you cook the chicken on the bone it is much more flavorful
  4. For me personally, it's all about flavor and texture. I like hot wings, and I usually order them somewhat well done, so the skin is crispy without the meat drying out too bad. Leaving the bone in gives me something to hold onto while I eat the chicken off the wing. Boneless skinless chicken fingers & chicken nuggets usually aren't even wing meat, which has its own flavor & texture - usually it's either breast pieces or shredded & compressed breast or thigh meat. They're also usually breaded & then dipped in a wet sauce like barbecue or buffalo sauce, & if it's one thing I hate, it's soggy breading.
