- you can sit on it until it hatch, kind of like horton. heat thing don't work well since temperature varies too much. to hatch egg, you need temp to be relatively the same.
- i have never heard of hatching chickens like that but that doesn't mean it wont work. as long as the egg stays around 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit it could hatch, but you should sprinkle warm water on it once a week so that it wont dry out.
- the first time i did that i found out it was unfertilized and when i cracked it it was partly cooked and it was to hot also use a thermometer also this website has homemade ones try them http://www.backyardchickens.com/chicken-coop-incubator.html
- The hells a incubator?
- So you found an egg in the barn. First do they have a Rooster running with the hens?If not then the egg will not be fertile ,so it would be a waste of time. Do you know how long the egg was lying there?any more than 5-7 days it will not hatch. Unless you have an Incubator then it is a complete waste of time and to buy an incubator for 1 egg it would be cheaper to buy some chicks. Sorry to disappoint you but these are true facts. Some of the answers are not from this Planet.
- Oh dear. Were you born yesterday? 1. You do not know if it is fertile and if it is not then it will never hatch. 2. You need an incubator or a broody hen to hatch any egg, you will never hatch it yourself. 3. When eggs are exposed to non-warmth for more than 15 minutes they will die so there is no point trying to hatch it because it will not hatch. Sorry. Zarago.
