How to take care of a baby chick?

SO yesterday night i won a baby chick in a jamaica and and it super cute it really small like it fits in my hand perfectly and its so cute. Okay my first question is The chick is not yellow is brown is it gonna stay brown or will it turn yellow? The other question is where should i put it right now its in a box which is pretty big for they little chick it can run around in it and it have its food and water once it grows older where gonna build a chicken coop in our back yard but what else should i do right know to make sure its comfortable?

  1. okkk for the brown color it will change it's feather's depending the seasons. and another way to make it comforatable is to keep a warm house and pretend your it's mama. i did that and my chickens are happy to be around me. oh also get it some brothers and sisters. it'll survive longer. :)

It will change colors probably within a week or two as it will be putting on feathers.OK ...This is some of what you need...You need chick starter from a pet or feed store...It comes medicated to keep your chick from getting sick...you need heat over your chick..I suggest that you put a thermometer in the box to get the temp right....a day old chick should be around 99 degrees and lower 5 degrees per week until it has it's feathers. Your chick also needs grit....you can buy grit at the pet store...Or put sand in the box...But I will warn you it will get pretty dusty if you are keeping it in your house...Good luck!!
