Chook Me!

How do/what chemicals do food packaging plants use to preserve poultry?

I've noticed when I buy certain brands of chicken from the meat department, they taste extra "chicken-y". Perhaps the chicken is preserved with chicken flavoring (i.e. chicken flavored chicken)? I've had the same problem with turkey. I find the extra flavoring disgusting and can never finish a piece of poultry that tastes like it's been soaking in "essence of chicken". It's overpowering! So, what am I actually tasting?

  1. I have never heard of this - - so It must be a mental aberration and you display that by your constant reference to the artificial side ( that is from the original stuff) Other wise you have selected an excellent brand of birds and if your disgusted - - I suggest not having anything to to with birds they don't add CHEMICALS that is food freak talk
