A question about the restaurant "Hooters"?
I went to Hooters for the first time today, and i have never felt so shallow i my life. Everything about that place was just so cold. The way the waitress treated me was just so condescending, i looked at the people there and they were all a bunch of overweight middle aged married businessmen. I hated it, and i am a straight single man. But i feel like i should have loved it, it really seemed perfect. Smokin' hot chicks, every sport playing at all times, good food, and a good place to hang out, but i don't know it all felt so artificial. Does anyone else feel the same way? Or is it just me. And i know all the girls will agree with me, but what do other guys think?

- I somewhat feel the same way. There is another local bar called Show-mes that is similar to Hooters. I actually prefer Show-mes to Hooters, even though in both places, the waitresses are scantly dressed. At Show-mes, they don't make hot chicks the center of everything. They have karaoke 2 nights a week, and you more often see couples there instead of single men. Hooters just seems like they try to get all of the "interests" in men and make those "interests" as well known as possible. Show-mes is more family oriented in my opinion.
- I think it is just "prostitution without undressing" they are prostituting themselves to make a buck but I support their right to do so, and they are providing a service, so good on them, I say. I personally think it's not as shallow as the whole "celebrity" thing
- I kind of feel the same way. I applied at Hooters and got hired- before then, I'd never even been into a Hooters. The girls there seemed all cheery. About a week later I went back to orientation and learned stuff like you can't have any piercings except one on each earlobe, you have to wear your hair down and styled (no headbands or visible clips or bobby pins) you HAVE to wear makeup (they make you carry mascara and lipgloss in your little apron), etc. I know this all seems like a stretch, but it's completely true. I never went back after orientation, I was supposed to start training but I never showed up.
