What can I do to reduce the appearance of chicken pox spots and scars?
What should I use to reduce the appearance of my chicken pox spots & scars? I am 27 and have come down with the most impressive bout of Chicken Pox. At the risk of sounding vain, I am really worried about what my skin will be like after the illness. Is there anything I can apply to my skin to rid the spots quicker, and should I have any scars, what would be best applied to them? Looking forward to your suggestions! :)

- I heard Bio Oil works great for reducing the appearance of scars. Palmers Cocoa Butter I heard also is good for that and evening out skin tones-it smells pretty good too by the way. If those over the counter products don't work, you might like get referred to a dermatologist. In the mean time, I would use skin tone foundation and cover up for it. Oh and one last thing, aloe vera (the plant) if you smear it on your face and wash it off in the morning, it does wonders. I'm sure it could help reduce the scarring and it just makes the skin really smooth. Hope that helped a little!
- Keeping your hands away from the spots is the best way to NOT get scars at all. Trying to cover them up is likely to irritate them and make your spots larger and deeper. Just realize that those who do not vaccines must suffer the illness. Stay clear of everyone.
- Vitamin E oil works miracles. Use a high one, like 42,000. Also, vitamin K cream may help.
- Dont put anything on them the best way to not get scars is to not scratch them. I would ask a Dr. or pharmacist what to put on them. When I had them the only thing I used was callimine lotion to prevent itching.
- i currently have chicken pox as well, i was giving by a friend 'solosite gel', its a healing gel from the chemist, and says it's for use with chicken pox. seems to be working pretty good so far for me, thankfully reduced the itching on my face alot too!
