Why do people reffer to chicken wings as Buffalo wings?

I wondered about this my whole life.. Buffalos dont have wings....Or do they :/ smh

5. This really isn't a hockey question, but a food question, Jessica Simpson. The dish was created in Buffalo, NY. I think it was originally called Buffalo-style wings and subsequently was shortened.
6. When I was living up near Buffalo, it was claimed that the original wings were from AJ's. You would order a dozen wings with a pitcher of beer and the challenge was to finish the wings before you could finish the beer. Rarely happened, I couldn't do it. That was 20 years ago.
