What types of food do you cook normally?
I can currently make a few things. Nothing big but I am learning. I make spaghetti, shepard's pie, chicken broccoli casserol, and.... I think that's about all. I mean I like simple easy recipes and casseroles because I love cleaning up while the casserole is in the oven. Other than that I can follow directions on the boxes. ha. Are there any easy meals you can recommend? I eventually hope to cook with more effort right now I'm just learning.

- Easiest thing is to get a crock pot. There are a ton of recipes where you basically just dump stuff in the pot, turn it on, go to work, and when you come home have a delicious meal. There is no real talent involved at all. Plus, as a bonus, they tend to healthier as you don't need oil or butter in most recipes.
- Pasta recipes, just make a sauce using tomato + paste and herbs, with garlic and onion. Pour it over the cooked pasta. Add chicken or cheese. Lasagne is quick, just layer cheese sauce and bolognaise sauce, sprinkle with parmesan and oven cook. Prawns and rice. fry the rice gently, add chicken or vegetable stock (if desired, or water and season all) tomato paste, onion, a little fresh garlic, parsley well chopped and some to garnish. - I have a slow cooker that I use at least once a week, mainly soups and chili. Slow cookers are great--just dump in your ingredients and go about your day. They're easy to clean, too. Another appliance I use often is my George Foreman grill for burgers and steaks There are non-perishable staples that I keep in the cupboard at all times: tomato sauce diced tomatoes mushrooms beef broth chicken broth cream of mushroom soup onion soup mix chili seasoning mix brown gravy mix taco seasoning mix saltines spaghetti noodles elbow macaroni rice spaghetti sauce tomato soup chili beans refined olive oil spices In the fridge/freezer, I always have tortillas, eggs, butter, ground beef, bread, buns, assorted cheeses, an onion, green pepper, lunch meat. That way, I'm always prepared to make a variety of my favorite dishes. Cooking at home is a big money-saver and it doesn't have to be a lot of work. For cooking ideas, just think of the dishes you like and search online for recipes. I go to cooks.com.
