Ideas for leftover spiral sliced ham?
I already searched the other poster's questions and none have seemed to leap out at me. I have 2 bags of this awesome sliced ham and a ham bone with plenty of meat on it for a bean soup later. (Also I have 2 other bones to make for soup another day, so no soup recipes right now, please). I want something new and original. No soup please Also breakfast ideas have been done to death (we almost always buy small ham to make omelets, hams and potato skillets etc.... My husband hates split pea and I will be making a navy bean soup later (he loves that and i have a killer recipe he does love) , I already will be making/planning to make.... Chicken Cordon Blue (tuesday) Ham and cheese potato casserole (? maybe) Ham fried rice (? only if I can't find a better recipe to replace it) Grilled ham and swiss (wed) navy bean soup (will be using the ham bone for this later) I also will be using what I have in the house, here are a few things I have Hot ground sausage (uncooked) Grits (uncooked) Cornmeal (uncooked) Breadcrumbs Mexican rice (prepared...I made way too much) cream of mushroom soup (can) creamed corn (can) can corn frozen corn frozen mixed veggies celery onion carrots potatoes eggs homemade salsa jalapenos (fresh) Monterrey jack cheese (brick) Swiss cheese (sliced) spaghetti (uncooked) marinara sauce Bottled bbq sauce plus the standard condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo...) I don't have canned tomatoes other wise I would make jambalaya. Also I have no milk, just vanilla soy milk. I am out of canned milk too but I found a can of sweet and sour sauce!

- BBQ'd ham sandwiches. Ham and cheese quesadilla's.
- Put it in zip lock bags in amounts you will use later and freeze it. Wait til you are over the taste of having it every day. I make open face sandwiches a lot to go with other soups! toast breads, lay ham on bread and melt cheese on this under broiler. Sprinkle with mushrooms, etc. Different cheese every time and different toppings on that cheese. Never 2 days the same! I was going to say, julienne the ham and toss into Chef Salad or in Mac n Cheese. Either is good !!
- Here are a few websites with ideas on how to help you use up your left over ham. But if you start getting tired of eating ham, just freeze some of it for later on. http://www.kraftfoods.com/kf/search/SearchResults.htm?searchtext=ham&u2=ham&scope=all&start=1&rsort=&cm_mmc=srch-_-Yahoo-_-acq-_-spiral_ham_recipe http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/Meat-and-Poultry/Pork/Ham/Search.aspx?WithTerm=leftover+ham http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/Meat-and-Poultry/Pork/Ham/Newest.aspx http://www.recipetips.com/recipes-collections/leftover-ham-recipes.asp http://southernfood.about.com/cs/hamrecipes/a/hamrecipes.htm

Decrease oven temperature by 25 degrees F if using glass pie dish This is what I'm making tonight with my left over ham. This is my recipe that I have made many times, I will also make some small loaf pans and freeze them. My Ham Loaf recipe 2 pounds left over Ham / ground (I use my Kitchen Aid food grinder with the coarse plate) 1 pound fresh ground pork, unseasoned (I buy this at the store) 2 cups Frosted Flakes (measure two cups of flakes then crush to about ¼ inch size) 2 eggs 1 Cup milk 1 Tablespoon dry mustard, 3 slices caned pineapple 3 maraschino cherries ¼ cup packed brown sugar In a Large bowl mix ground Ham and ground pork together. You want to keep the mixture lose, do not mix this like a ground beef meat loaf / keep it lose. In another bowl combine brown sugar and dry Mustard. Then add to Ham and pork mixture. At this time add the Frosted Flakes to the loaf. In a two cup measuring cup pore a cup of milk and add two eggs, mix slightly and add to loaf. DO NOT! Over mix this! You do not want this to be a tight mixture; it should be shaped in a loaf. But not packed tight in the pan. Place 3 slices of pineapple on top and in the center of each pineapple ring, place a maraschino cherry. Bake at 350° for 45 minuets to 1 hour Bon Appétit Ham salad is a big hit here.
