  1. I say run don't walk from this guy..to many red flags stand out..no paper work which would have the birds hatch date and breeder information and possibly if the bird has had it's polyoma vaccination or not no it,...most greys don't start really talking talking until about a year of age if they are going to talk..granted some start to talk early but still. Some people will remove leg bands if the bird is stolen and they are trying to re-sell it..the leg band would have the breeders initials or aviary initials the year, sometimes the state it came from and some ID numbers and the breeder would write down the leg band information to keep in their records the whole thing just sounds fishy..I would buy from a reputable petstore or breeder that has a good reputation
  2. Yes I would...and I have....so many have been bred here in captivity that it's not as big of a deal. My African started speaking at 4-5 months....they are really smart. Even if he's wrong on the birthdate, they live for over 50 yrs. I would just make sure it's not a scam.....don't send any money and meet the bird first!
  3. Don't touch it with a barge pole .by the sound of this it is a scam, they will get Your Money but you will not get The Bird. Once bitten twice ,three times Shy.
  4. I bought my African Grey from a newspaper add, he was a year old. I have had no problems. BUT this deal sounds fishy as heck, you don't know how the bird was raised and fed and what the circumstances were. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft pole.
