Cheesy Hashbrown Recipe?
Does anyone know a good recipe for Cheesy hashbrown casserole?? One that doesnt call for cream of chicken or mushroom soup?

- This is the recipe my mother makes. I believe she got it from Taste of Home magazine Ingredients 2 cans (10-3/4 ounces each) condensed cheddar cheese soup, undiluted 1-1/3 cups buttermilk 2 tablespoons butter, melted 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1 package (32 ounces) frozen cubed hash brown potatoes 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese 1 teaspoon paprika Directions In a 3-qt. slow cooker, combine the first six ingredients; stir in hash browns. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and paprika. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 4-1/2 hours or until potatoes are tender. Yield: 6-8 servings.
- You can make your own "sauce". Just do a classic white sauce. 1 tablespoon flour 1 tablespoon butter 1 cup milk, cream or half & half (whichever you have on hand) On the top of your stove, melt the butter in a pan. Add the flour to it. Stir until it's mixed well. Add your milk slowly while continuously stirring. Keep stirring until the sauce thickens. Add salt & pepper. Add a pinch of nutmeg. Maybe some onion powder if you like. You could also add a bullion cube if you wish.
- CHEESY HASH BROWN POTATO CASSEROLE 2 lbs. hash browns, defrosted 1/2 c. melted butter 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 can cream of chicken soup 1 c. milk 1 c. sour cream 2 c. grated sharp cheese (Colby or cheddar) Mix above ingredients and put in a 9"x13" pan. TOPPING: 2 c. crushed corn flakes (can use Ritz crackers) 1/2 c. melted butter Melt butter and add corn flakes to mix. Sprinkle topping over potatoes and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes
- Here is my Cheesy Hashbrown Casserole. I like to make it when we have company staying with us. Add some english muffins, with jams, honey, butter, and fresh fruit. 2 cans of cheddar cheese soup 1-1/2 c milk 2 T melted butter 1/2 t salt 1/4 t ground pepper 1 32 oz of hash brown potatoes, thawed, I like the shredded ones 1 pound cooked and drained sausage, I like Jimmy Dean Mix all and put 1/2 c grated cheddar cheese on top Cook at 400 for 35-40 min, or till all is hot and bubbly. Let sit for a few minutes while toasting english muffins. Everyone loves it Enjoy! Andie
