Chook Me!

Best Answer wins it part II?

Okay I have made the following recipe courtesy of another Y!A member: With a little oil if you have it,mix together a pinch of EVERY ingredient listed (except for the cucumbers and lettuce and snack wings) and add a good dash of the ketchup, original BBQ sauce and mustard. Coat the wings well in the oil/spice/herbs,ketchup,etc paste and place on a tray in an oven heated to hot (200C/Gas 7-8) for about 20 mins. Slice the lettuce, peel and cut the cucumber into small chunks and toss together with the cooked spicy wings I have these items: Crush Red Pepper seasoning Ground Red Chili Pepper Seasoning Lemon Pepper Lemon Pepper and Garlic marinade Ground Sage Sazon Adobo (light) Paprika Salt Italian Seasoning Meat Tenderizer Parsley Flakes Curry Powder Jamaica's choice jamaican curry powder Cinnamon Original BBQ sauce Ketchup Mustard Brown Rice Black Beans (canned) Pasta Noodles Frozen block of NY Sharp Cheddar Cheese Lentils 16 Bean soup mix (16 different dried beans) Frozen Neufchatel cream cheese What side dish can I make to complement the chicken? What would be a great side dish and if you mention salad prepare for a thumbs down. All I ate today was a lowfat yogurt and an orange, I want to EAT!

  1. brown rice with black beans drained cook rice and cook beans on low heat add to rice blend together and serve next to the meal add salt and enjoy
  2. Cheese Tortellini Boil them to Aldente' Drain then Sautee' in butter or Olive Oil until lightly browned De-Lish !
  3. I'd suggest oven-fried potato wedges, but you don't seem to have potatoes:) ... I suppose you could make some Mac & Cheese with the pasta and cheddar cheese
  4. I would say either a pasta in a light vodka sauce, or fried rice. :)
  5. I was not able to find a recipe with just what you had, but here are a few that do use what you have along with other items that you will need to get. BROWN RICE CURRY 1 cup uncooked brown rice 1 green pepper, finely chopped 1 onion, finely chopped 2 1/2 cups vegetable or chicken stock 2 tbsps. olive oil 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped 1/2 tsp. onion powder 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 2 tsps. curry powder Add the water to a large pot and bring to a boil. Add all the ingredients. Reduce to a simmer, cover and cook until water has been absorbed into rice. Average cooking time is 60 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes and fluff with fork. ============================================= AZTEC CORN Corn on the Cob, cut into two inch disks 4 TB butter 1 tsp chili powder 1 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp salt water In a large fry pan, add butter to melt and and fry up corn. Add corn stir occasionally. sprinkle the spices into the pan. Continue to sauté the corn. Add water to assist with the cooking process (only about a 1/4 of an inch). cover with lid and occasionally stir. ============================================== BLACK BEAN DIP One can of black beans drained and rinsed three times three cloves of garlic, minced 1/4 tsp sea salt 1 and a half tsp of lime juice 3/4 chipolte chili powder 1 tsp of Adobe Seasoning black pepper to taste Mix all of the ingredients together and heat up so black beans begin to cook. This can be done in a microwave for 2 minutes. Place cooked items, still warm, into a food processor (I use a magic bullet) and blend to emulsify. Do not add any water or oil. Let chill in fridge for 1 hour before serving. It should have the consistency of creamy peanut butter. Serve with Tortilla chips ================================================ JAMAICAN RICE INGREDIENTS (Nutrition) 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1/2 large onion, sliced 1/2 red apple, cored and sliced 1 pinch curry powder 1 cup water 2/3 cup brown rice 1 teaspoon dark molasses or treacle 1 small banana, sliced 1 tablespoon unsweetened flaked coconut DIRECTIONS Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and red apple; cook and stir until onion is transparent. Season with curry powder, and stir in the water. Add the rice and molasses, cover, and cook over low heat until the rice is tender, and water has been absorbed, about 30 minutes. Mix in the banana, then sprinkle the coconut on top. Heat through for a moment over low heat before serving.
