How do you set up an egg laying area in a tank?
Every time my turtles lay eggs we try incubators and there don't work. most of the time my turtle lays an egg she lays it in the water. I'm thinking that she does it because there is no place to lay her eggs. I have about a median size tank with a basking area, how would you set up a place so she can lay her eggs.

- i recommend putting sand or dirt, remember, turtles like to bury there eggs in warm spots under dirt, u could use a foil container and make sure she can get in it, and put dirt or sand in it so she can lay her eggs. put it under a heat light. hope this helps
- I build all my turtles above tank basking areas and attach a nest box or lay box there that was I can be sure she will lay there and not under the water. I use a mixture of potting soil and moss then mark the top of the egg the way you found it (Do NOT turn the egg in any way) that way when I put them in the incubator I know which way to put them in. I haven't had a dud in over 6 years.
