I have 2 week old baby chicks, at what age may I start feeding them table scraps?
For now they're housed indoors and being fed chicken start. At what age may I start introducing my chicks to table scraps and food other than chicken food?

- they shouldnt have table scraps till they are big enough for grit because they wont be able to break it down and it will plug their craw, mine are usually 3-4 months before then, but we have large grit, they can have bread and crackers before then though, preferably dried bread.
- Around 6 weeks of age, up until then proprietary chick starter crumb is best. You can give a few oats maybe but scraps might upset their digestive system at this young age. Bread especially can swell up and they end up feeling full up and not eating the starter crumb and bread doesn't have the nutrients and protein they need. You could try chopping up a little spinach and offering that, they would eat grass if they were out on grass.
