are there recipes of chicken and rice without using mushroom or celery soup?
i want to make chicken and rice, somewhat of a spanish style, but every recipe i have came across have all been either complicated or involve mushroom and celery soups. i want a simple recipe using a slow cooker or not that does not involve using mushrooms or celery. the person im cooking for is extremely picky and will make a huge deal. any help please

- Just use water, or water and stock cubes.
- A can of whole plum tomatoes chopped up with some olive oil sliced up green pepper, onion, some jalapeno if you want a little spice or red pepper flakes. Kinda like a chicken Cacciatore (italian)
- This recipe will hit the spot. 1(6.8 ounce) spanish-style rice mix. 1TB butter,2 cups hot water, 1 skinless boneless chicken breast half- cut into cubes,1 cup salsa, 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers. In a large skillet over medium heat prepare rice according to package directions. using the butter to brown the vermicelli and rice to golden brown. add the water,chicken, salsa and tomatoes and bring to a boil. cover skillet, reduce heat and let simmer for 25 to 30 min. or until liquid is absorbed.
- Spanish Rice 4 slices bacon 1/2 cup chopped green pepper 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 can (28 oz.) tomatoes, coarsely chopped 1 cup water 1 cup raw regular rice 1 tablespoon chopped parsley 1 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper In 10-inch skillet over medium heat, fry bacon until crisp. Remove to paper towels to drain; crumble and set aside. Over medium-high heat, in bacon drippings, cook green pepper, onion and garlic until vegetables are tender-crisp. Stir in remaining ingredients except bacon. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low. Cover; simmer 25 minutes or until rice is tender and all liquid is absorbed. To serve: Sprinkle with reserved bacon. (6 cups)
