why does chicken invaders 2 not work with windows 7?

i purchased chicken invaders 2 for my daughter on my old computer that had windows xp i have now purchased a new computer and it has windows 7 the game downloads but will not play and all the settings are what the screeen comes up telling me they should be what can i do to get the game working again

1. The problem may be that windows 7 is too up to date for the game. There aren't many drivers for windows 7 at the moment (which is stupid) but it means that there are some discs that won't run.
