How many chickens are in a chicken house?

I need to know some info for my paper about how many chickens are in a chicken house. I am not talking about a at home back yard chicken house I mean a big chicken house that they raise chickens for Tysons and other large companies. Please help!

3. hey, this question depends entirely on how big the shed is, the standard is that one hen gets the space equivalent of one A4 sized piece of paper, towards the end of a table bird's life cycle it will have more room to move, but wont be able to, their joints become inflamed and their lungs get burnt with ammonia you can read ALL about a table birds life cycle on this website: http://www.chickenout.tv/ click on 'the 39 day blog' button on the left hand side (and sign up if you want! =] ) there is no definite answer to your question, as i said; it depends on the size of the shed, however, recently a farmer who lived near us changed to free range, he admitted before his fre range hens he had 10, 000 in his shed and often ended up with 8, 500 at the end, the chicks are after all only 1-3p each, so they are seem as easily replaceable, and easily disposed of.
