Where are good places to go for good quality, comfortable shoes?

My parents usually wear shoes that cost 10 dollars or so and now they are complaining about foot pains and back aches. I would like to get them some great quality, comfortable, durable shoes. What are some good stores that I should go to? Any stores that are known for having sales associates that are informative and knowledgeable about different kinds of shoes? Those are all the things I am looking for in finding a great shoe store. I would maybe go to Sports Chalet, Footlocker, Champs Sports, Chicks/ Dicks sporting goods, and The Walking Company. Are those stores all good ideas to go to? or are there any other stores that I don't know about? Thank you very much! (I would give 5 stars for the most informative answers)

2. Most Macy's staff are trained in knowledge of their shoes. Born are a really good brand, as well as Ecco. They are both somewhat expensive but you parents will no longer have the back ache and foot pain. They both make shoes for men and women, and I always got good reviews when a customer would buy them!
