Is it true that Israel sends 15,000 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza weekly?
It is my understanding that truckloads of fish, poultry, meat, milk and dairy products, vegetables, fruits, baby food, flour, medical supplies, building supplies (except those which can be used to fortify bunkers), and other supplies are shipped to Gaza daily, amounting to 15,000 tons of humanitarian aid in a typical week. So what is the necessity and urgency of the so-called humanitarian aid flotilla?

- Yes, a lot of aid is sent by Israel to Gaza. The flotilla's purpose may be to provide some humanitarian aid, but its major purpose was to break the blockade.
- Israel does not send any aid to Gaza. The UN and other aid agencies are allowed to take in a certain amount of aid, but say it needs to be at least FOUR TIMES what israel currently allows to meet minimum humanitarian needs. Thousands of people still live in rubble due to there being no concrete or building materials to rebuilt the thousands of homes destroyed by Israeli bombing (that also killed 300 children, remember?) Yes, there is a dire need for aid in Gaza, it is being strangled by Israel. -----Edit: oh dear! The truth hurts doesn't it? You think there is no rubble in Gaza? Try joining reality. Maybe you were in Gaza before it was repeatedly attacked with chemical weapons dropped from F16's. Phospherous bombs burn concrete you see. It's all a matter of international record. Go to the UN website and check out the number of UN Resolutions that Israel is in breach of.
- So really you think that is a lot and how much aid was lifted every day into East Berlin duriing the air lift to feed a similar population do you think ok if we take they don't need coal in Gaza that much that means they should really be trying to get five thousand toones a day for that size of popluation that would mean with my maths at least 35,000 a week The UN by the way say Gaza needs four times that 15 that Israel sends. The Berlin airlift started on 28th June 1948. The first week, only 90 tonnes was flown in, and the second week, 900 tonnes. But the operation built up steam fast – by the end of July, 3,400 tonnes a day was being flown in, and by September, the necessary 5,000 tonnes a day. The Soviets tried their best to derail the operation. They shot near (but not at) Allied planes, and flew their own planes in the way (a couple of crashes were caused when they got too close). They also initiated a sustained programme of radio propaganda, trying to persuade Berliners that the airlift was hopeless and offering incentives for the people to move to Soviet areas. The original 5,000 tonnes per day depended on a very limited diet, intended to be short-term, and summer weather. By the winter, the daily lift necessary was 11,000 tonnes. The Allied powers, joined now by France, were determined not to back down, and more planes and crews were brought in. By April 1949, the daily supply into Berlin was actually greater than had arrived by train before the start of the blockade. The Soviets had been embarrassed, and on 12th May 1949, lifted the blockade. The airlift continued for some time, however, as the Allied Powers didn’t trust Stalin further than they could throw him, and wanted to build up large reserves of food and fuel in Berlin.
- By the way I am not a Jew. I have been to Palestine. They have stores and I did not see any rubble other then the garbage thrown on the street. Again Arafat stole money that was given as aid . If my memory serves me right it was billions provided by the US. Guess what they hate us too. He then proceeded to feed a hatred for the Jew probably to cover up his dastardly deed. This hatred has escalated to a point that Palestinians started hostile acts against the Jew. Snipers caused the Jews to build a high wall to protect it's citizens. and close it's boarders to bomb carrying terrorists. I do not have time to write the whole history but want to state that the Palestinians are their own worse enemies. Before all this unrest there used to be 5 million tourists visit the Holy Land. Now it is less then a million. That is a lot of hungry tourists to be fed and be sold souvenirs It is the Palestinian that needs to get it's act together before it can become prosperous and enjoy these fruits. They love the bandit that rapped them. His picture appears everywhere at eye level. I was surprised that they didn't hang strings between buildings to hang his ugly puss. this is years after his death. He looks like a camel. Most aid to any country usually doesn't reach the needy. You have to have organization involved and revenue to deliver it. A lot of it ends up in the wealthy hands to be sold.
