If I get an chicken egg older than one month and hatch it in homemade incubator, is it possible to do?

How old is chicken egg which is appropriate to hatch. If it's getting older for long (example one or two month), it can be hatch in simple homemade incubator

  1. Getting an egg to hatch is something in itself but caring for the hatchling is an entirely different beast. I am sure it is possible but why would you want? Why not just get a chick that has already hatched?
  2. Sounds like the egg is too old. If kept cool enough and turned everyday, fertile eggs last maybe a week before the chances of hatching dip severely. So it is unlikely that a month old egg will hatch.
  3. I get the feeling that you are conducting an experiment, making sure your home made incubator is capable of all an incubator should do,which is mainly to incubate fertile eggs so that you have a chick at the end of the given period. To get the chick you will need to incubate a reasonably fresh egg,an egg that is a month old is too far off the mark.Try to incubate eggs that have been laid a few days ago, possibly within the week.
