Questions about raising quail - incubators. What happens if you're not home when eggs hatch?
I am thinking about raising quail for both eggs & meat. I have been reading a bit & I know the eggs need incubation to hatch but I work full time. What happens if the eggs hatch & I have just left for work & there are baby chicks left in an incubator for 8.5 hours?

- They'll be just fine.
- Either way if they do hatch, they still need to be warm so the incubation won't hurt them, only keep them warm. But that's not the problem, the problem is feeding, so let's hope your there to feed them when they hatch.! :)
- It probably would be best .They don't need you ,you can't help them Its hard not to remove the lid to look chilling them They need to stay in the incubator longer than you will be gone
- i agree with ieguy. the will be fine. But just in case, you should leave some food in the incubator.
