- You usually boil or bake your chicken but you could buy a rotisserie chicken. Here is a basic recipe for a easy chicken salad but you can add anything you like to it. 1 c. diced, cooked chicken 1 c. diced celery 1 tbsp. mayonnaise 1 tbsp. finely chopped pickles 1 c. chopped hard-boiled egg Mix well and serve. You may also use tuna fish or ham in place of the chicken.
- I just made some.... Yummy!!! I used a roasted chicken from the grocery. Debone the chicken, Cut it into little pieces, add two chopped boiled eggs, I add both sweet and dill pickle relish about 1/4 cup each, salt and pepper, about 1/4 cup mayo and small squeeze of mustard. mix and eat!!
- If you want a recipe that doesn't require any cooking then use canned chicken. All ingredients should be to taste. If you love onions add lots if you don't like celery cut it out of the recipe completely. Canned chicken (drained of water) 2 celery stalks finely chopped 1/2 small onion finely chopped Add mayo a spoon at a time until it all sticks consistantly together. Salt and pepper to taste. If you want it spicy you can add chopped jalepenos or a little cayenne pepper. Some people put raisins, chopped apples and nuts in theirs. That's a little too boujie for me.
- I have a very easy recipe for some chicken salad. 2 big cans of tyson chicken in a can 4 boiled eggs 1 small onion pickles as many as you want 2 apples red grapes as many as you want or you can omit it Mix all together with mayonnaise and your family will enjoy.
- When they say cook it you can do it any way you would like. Me I prefer to bake it seasoned the make the salad. With you wanting to make a spicy chicken salad it can be done. First bake the chicken to 165 degrees to make sure its done. Stick it in the fridge to cool it down. When it has become cool take it out and cut it into 1/2 inch cubes. Combine this with some mayo and diced up celery and onions. Feel free to add anything else u would want to(I like black and green olives). For the spicy part dice up some jalpenos and there you go. Hope you make some and enjoy it
- You will get a better flavor if you roast the chicken--not boil it. OR, if you are in a hurry, pick up a roasted chicken and save yourself the time. I also add halved-grapes, chopped pecans. No egg. The grapes and pecans are a winner every time I've served it and people have picked up the hint and now claim it themselves.
- think mayo and chicken =)
- To precook your chicken you either roast it, boil it or poach it. I prefer the latter choice. I have 2 favourite chicken salads, the first one is to mix the chicken, after being diced, with toasted almonds and diced red apples with a mixture of mayonnaise and ketchup to make a kind of marie rose sauce. Serve on a bed of lettuce ( I prefer Iceberg) The second salad is based on the Coronation chicken dish, basically is diced chicken in a curried mayonnaise (just add a teaspoon of curry powder or paste) with a tablespoon of mango chutney and a small handful of raisins.
