- Duck eggs hatch in 28 days. No you do not need to move them from the tank incubator to hatch. You must cover the tank top with cardboard, and three of the glass sides with newspaper and tape. You must get a thermometer and put it inside. the light you place in there for heat must not rise above 100 degrees. (98 to 100 degrees is perfect) You must place damp paper towels in a dish in there for humidity, so the eggs don't dry out. --the eggs must be turned by hand 1/4 turn every 3 or 4 hours during the day only. The temp must remain steady so you must insulate the tank with the cardboard top and newspaper on the sides--and test it for several days before you start incubating the duck eggs to make sure the temp stays even for the most part.---STOP turning the eggs at the end of the 25th day--this is critical--the mother stops turning her eggs 3 days before they hatch because the ducklings are preparing to peck their way out! Follow these strict rules as written above--and your duck eggs will hatch! Good luck!
