Chook Me!

help me save my chicken broccoli casserole!?

I accidentally misread my recipe and added uncooked chicken to my rice which I cooked in a rice cooker, How long do I cook the casserole with the small chicken breast pieces ( cubed size) so they are fully cooked? I already added the soup , and broccoli and its cooking on 350 degrees right now...any suggestions? Thanks in advance :) clarificationThe raw chicken is mixed with the broccoli and rice and baking right now... as I speak

  1. As a guess, cook for 45 minutes to an hour.
  2. If you have already cubed the chicken into bite size pieces, I would guess about 45 minutes total at 350. But you might want to check it to see if it needs more moisture. Then add broth, water or milk depending upon what all is in the casserole. Relax, your casserole will come out ok. All is not lost!
  3. If the pieces are cut small enough they may just cook with the rice, if they need to cook a bit longer , then keep an eye on the sauce so that it doesn't burn.
  4. at 350 35 minutes per lb of meat. should turn out okay but broccoli may be overcooked but not to the point of being not edible
  5. This is the recipe I use with raw chicken. Broccoli Chicken Casserole IV Ingredients * 2 1/2 cups chopped chicken breast meat * 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup * 1/2 cup milk * 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese * 1 (10 ounce) package frozen broccoli * 1/2 cup chopped green onion * 1 teaspoon dried basil * 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper Directions 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2. In a large bowl combine the chicken, soup, milk, cheese, broccoli, green onion, basil and pepper. Mix well and spread mixture into a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish. 3. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 50 minutes, until bubbly.
  6. If it's cubed, it'll cook without any extra time. You can poach cubed chicken so it's ready to eat in about two minutes. Relax, chalk it up under the " don't do again" column and have a glass of wine!
