Chook Me!

Quick, easy family meals?

I'm 14 and love to cook, and most times volunteer to make dinner for the family. My dad handles all of the meat prep and meat cooking and whatnot, though. Normally we stick with things like burgers, spaghetti, casseroles, chicken, etc. I'm trying to make a list of easy meal ideas (ones that don't require recipes or long prep times). Just a simple suggestion like lemon chicken with steamed veggies and rolls. Simple and easy! Things I would prefer to stay away from are anything with mayo or ranch, lots of cheese, or complicated/long recipes or prep times. Thanks, and no links please!

  3. How about taco salad? This can be made pretty healthily with extra lean ground beef, fat free sour cream/ranch, kidney beans, and salsa. Really tasty! Soups can be made really healthily too and pretty easy, there are so many soup recipes out there, too many to name. You can just stick some in a crock pot, and let it simmer all day...and you can even make extra and freeze it for an easy dinner some other day. Stir fry is so easy to make, as well. Just spray some pam into the pan, add some frozen veggies...and some lightly browned chicken and wa-la, dinners done. Also, when you make chicken or any other type of meat, try adding some pineapple marmalade on top...or some chopped dates, soo good. :) And for your spaghetti, I love to add zucchini/eggplant and pineapple to the sauce, you should try it one day. Check out allrecipes.com they have some really good recipes on there :)!
