Am i a loser to go to college instead of University?

I don't know. It seems like almost all my friends go to University. All the hot chicks i like went to University. I wish i can go to university so that i can see my friends. Not only that but i wasted 2 years not going to college.

2. No you're not at all. Everyone i know goes to community college, including me, and it's nothing to be ashamed of. I didn't think i would end up at college either, but hey, at least we are both taking steps to improve our lives now. : ) It could be a lot worse, there are plenty of people that don't even start community college until they are much older than you. It's all good, be proud to be where you are in life, it's better than many alternatives, and work hard! : ) Plus, i've heard that statistically people that start these things late end up being more successful. ;D So, no, you're not a loser at all, there's no reason to think of yourself that way, it'll just bring you down.
3. Two years is nothing. I'm a professor and many professors I know got off to a later start. It is totally normal to go to community college. You can transfer to university after you finish community college (you're in the USA, right?) if you want. The other person who commented is right--often people who are a little older or who have taken some time off do better once they do start back at college/university. Because now you know that you really want an education and you know what the alternatives are, right? You can stay in touch with your friends. Remember--even if you had gone with them to university, you guys would have had to separate eventually anyway after university. See this as an opportunity to meet people. Good luck.
4. You are stupid if you go to university before CC. Why? 1) Uni is twice as expensive 2) There is no 2 year degree at uni 3) Most if not all credits will transfer So, you end up with a degree and the same amount of credits with half the debt. Sounds like the winner solution to me!!
5. You are not a loser. There are a lot of hot chicks who never go to uni. Hint: they usually live near a beach. Unis are degree factories. You can earn good money with lower level education and trades without paying big bucks for your training. My son is 21 and doing a phd in maths. This would make a lot of people feel like losers. Do what suits your personality and the lifestyle you hope to achieve. No-one calls body guards losers but there is no future in a lot of jobs. Always save and prepare for the future. Think outside the small area you live in.
