How long should 4 pounds of chicken wings go in the crockpot?
I have about 12 to 14 chicken wings (tips discarded) and wanted to throw them in the crockpot with some jerk seasoning on top. How long should I set it for? I've heard the first hour should be on high to make sure the pot reaches maximum temp but then turn to low. Just need a general guide to how long I should cook for.

- My mom does 15 all the time and does 7 hours.
- about 4/6hrs. on slow. Do not open cover. Every time u do u loose 1/2hr.You don't have to change temp. That's the whole idea of the crock pot, Put in whatever right away. Then set it and forget it. Oh yes, no liquid of any kind. It makes its own.
- McCarthy, my wife uses the crock pot, I hate the wretched thing. The way she does her wings are amazing, they are done in eight hours max. Now she does turkey wings we can get them bulk, I thick the same recipe was nine and a half to ten hours. She isn't here for me to ask her. Sorry to those folks that adore their slow cookers.
- Please don't do wings in the crock pot! The wonderful and worse thing about wings is the browned, crunchy, crispy skin that develops. you will not get that in a crock pot. You will get pale, soggy, greasy, limp skin. Season the wings and place them in the oven. You will be rewarded with lip smacking, finger licking, tongue tingling, jerk seasoned, crunchy, crispy wings.
- 8 hrs on Low 4 hrs on High
