What time and temp do I need?
I want to make a cheesy chicken and broccoli casserole. All the recipes Ive found so far call for canned or cut up chicken. All I have are whole chicken legs. I know it can be done that way too but what I don't know is how long to cook it and at what temperature. I use a gas stove. Thanks.

- 45 mins to an hour at 350 F
- Pre-cook the chicken legs first, then cut it up into chunks or strips. If you put raw chicken in your casserole, it's not gonna work and if it does, it won't be nearly as good. Once that's done cook it for approx half an hour at 340 or med-high(depending on your temp choices). Hope I helped!
- Roast or braise the legs first, pick the meat off the bones, cut it up, and then add it to your casserole as per the recipe.
- Whole chicken legs (thigh and leg) with the bones in, should be done after spending about 25 to 30 minutes in the oven at 350-375 degrees.
- Are you using the chicken legs whole? If so I recommend half-cooking them first, because the broccoli and cheese will cook in a much shorter time. Personally I'd pull the meat off the legs and chop it roughly, toss it in hot oil, dip the broccoli florettes in boiling water for half a minute, then combine them with your cheesy sauce and stick in a hot oven for about 20 minutes. The point is everything should be at least part cooked before the casserole goes in the oven; then it all just gets acquainted and really hot. Not more than half an hour. Put some breadcrumbs on top.
- if you r making it the oven the temp. is 350F for about 45 mins.if its on top of stove cook on med high for about the same time. you just have to turn them more often so they don't burn.if u have a thomator put it in the meatest part of leg. when temp. registers 160F chicken is ready.

- Well I would boil the chicken legs in chicken broth with carrots, onions, and celery with some sage in the water and simmer until the chicken was ready to fall off the bone. then i would debone the chicken and put it in the casserole and bake at 350 for about 45 min to an hour.
