Help! I've NEVER grilled chicken before..should I put wing sauce on before or after i grill it?
I'm only 23 years old and I just got my first grill about a month ago so grilling chicken breast is a new experience for me :) I really love buffalo grilled chicken so first I was wondering should I put chicken in a bag and let it marinade with the wing sauce before cooking or should i spread the wing sauce on afterwards??? Also..how long do I cook the chicken for to make sure that its actually done??? Thanks for all your help :)

- Do both, marinade for minimum 30 minutes, grill, make sure that the internal temp on the chicken is 165 degrees F. If you dont have a food thermometer, I highly recommend one. I cook on medium or a little less, want to make sure that the middle gets hot but the outside doesn't overcook. After grilling, I'd put some more sauce on.
- Any ketchup based sauce is loaded with sugar which will burn if you put it on at the beginning. Grill the marinated chicken by itself on the bone (for better flavor and moisture) for 20-30 minutes, and baste with the sauce at the end. Grill times and temperatures will vary, but the chicken is done when you pierce it with a knife and the juices run clear (no pink).
- There many ways to do this. You can use a marinade, some people baste the chicken as it cooks, and you can put the sauce on after its cooked. You have to decide whats best for you. As far as when its done cooking you want to make sure the juices run clear. You can always cut into a piece to check and see if its done. Happy Grilling
