Anybody have a good chicken salad recipe?
I usually only like chicken salad in restaurants. I cannot find a good recipe that replicates one in a restaurant. I dont like grapes or fruit in my chicken salad. Please do not search the internet and post something you have never made on here. I want a recipe that you have made and love. Thank you!

- I love chicken salad. I use mayo, salt, pepper and dill weed. Simple and very yummy. My chicken salad made dill weed my daughter's favorite seasoning.
- I cut my cooked chicken up into small cubes, add mayo to taste, sometimes I put a little pickle relish, and sometimes I put a little chopped up onions. I stuff tomatoes or make sandwiches out of mine. I have made sandwiches out of a mix of chicken and mayo. It works out fine and taste good.
- I don't like fruit or nuts in mine either. I do like crunch though. I keep my chicken pieces pretty chunky (big). I mix mayonnaise, celery salt, chopped celery and a drained can of water chestnuts. Sometimes I chop those up, sometimes not. I put garlic in everything but pancake batter whether it needs it or not. *s* On an ambitious day, I will roast the garlic in foil before adding a bit to the salad. This imparts a sweetness that I just love. Probably not very restaurant-y but it's delicious.
- I make this and it never fails: Chicken--I use cut up or shredded rotisserie chicken Mayonaise finely diced red onion diced celery pepper salt (may not need if using rotisserie chicken) Any other spices--sometimes I toss in a little dried thyme, or some red chile flakes or even celery seed) Mix and serve. I don't measure because sometimes I want a wetter chicken salad (more mayo) or more celery. Happy eating!
- Cube the chicken as many hard boiled aggs as you want salt & Pepper to taste Chopped onion, or celery or apple Mayo....Use only Helmans! pinch of ceyanne pepper! AWESOME!! :)

- The quality/taste of home made versus restaurant is simple. A lot of people at home use canned chicken. That can ruin a good chicken salad if you don't know how to pick out a good can of chicken. But the best will always be leftover chicken from dinner last night. Shred it, I add diced onions, celery, heavy fresh ground pepper, salt, a mix of sourcream and mayo because I like it really creamy but I don't like using all that mayo. I like to add corn and cayenne pepper but I usually don't if I plan on sharing it with anyone they always seem to complain about it. My mom likes adding diced water chestnuts and I really like it that way but never do it for myself. I like the crunch. Of course measurements are on the fly. How oniony do I want it? How hot do I want it? How salty, peppery or crunchy?
