Chook Me!

I want to make a cold bbq chicken pizza, anyone have a recipe?

I want to make a cold appetizer bbq chicken pizza. I want it to be kind of like a veggie pizza with a crescent roll crust and then a layer of cream cheese and then topped with bbq chicken, finely shredded cheese, peppers, red onion.... I've been trying to find a recipe everywhere! I'm not sure if I should use a packet of ranch with the cream cheese like I would for a veggie pizza. Maybe this just sounds gross... any input?

  1. make a normal one then let it go cold
  2. Sounds to me what you really want is a canape, and to use the crescent roll crust as the base and build it up from there. The method that I would use would go like this Heat the oven according to the crescent rolls package. Open the tube and unroll the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Lightly flour a rolling pin and lightly roll the dough out (eliminating the perforated cuts that define the triangles). Cut the rolled out dough into squares (as big or as small as you want) and transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Use a fork to dock the dough (this will prevent the dough from rising too much: simply fork the dough once in the center of the square and then once on either side of the center.) Bake the squares until golden brown, taking care not to burn the bottoms Remove from the oven and move the squares to a cooling rack Once they are cool, schmear a bit of cream cheese (seasoned as you wish) on each then top with shredded cheese, minced peppers and onions, a lardon of barbecue chicken and garnish with a cilantro leaf or sprig of fresh parsley. I would serve this right away as refrigerating the baked dough could make them soggy. I hope this helps!
  3. Use ranch to thin the cream cheese, otherwise you already said the recipe
