Can a herpstat be used for a hatching incubator?

I'm making an incubator for chicken eggs and it seems that people only use herpstat for reptiles. Can it be used for incubators?

1. A thermostat is a thermostat. That happens to be a pretty good one too. Yup, if an incubator needs a thermostat then that will do the job! Typically many incubators come with them built in, especially when it comes to birds so that's probably why you don't see it too often.
