Are Artsy Metal/Goth chicks common?

I am a pro Artist and only recently started hanging with the right crowd for me. Until then I was almost always the freak among my Artsy friends for being into Metal, Goth, Horror movies, and loving Halloween. Now that I am finally among real friends who accept me for who I am and have always been (I’m conservative compared to them!), I’m starting to think there may actually be hope for finding a girl who actually gets me too. I have gone to many Goth clubs over the years but I’m not at all the type to approach strange women easily (though I have). As with friends, I convinced myself that no one could possibly understand me or my strange interests. My question is, are these kind of girls common enough that I might meet them eventually hanging with the right crowd, or should I simply use my new sense of acceptance to approach them in Goth clubs, Metal shows, or whatever? And are girls like this common in Metropolitan areas like SF? Common enough to give me a shot at meeting someone who isn’t horrified by knowing that I’ve actually worked on Hollywood horror movies, but is totally turned on! How do I really tap into this “underground”?
