What did the dixie chicks say that was so bad?

All I know is that she said something bad about the president ( OR SOMEONE) and people got mad so she wrote a song called " not ready to make nice " or " forget" or whatever i cant remember.

1. Natalie Maines said during a concert in London "Just so you know, we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas." this was when Bush was President in 2003
2. she pretty much said that she was ashamed to be from texas since bush was from texas as well
3. I loved the Dixie Chicks....but i was really getting tired of sloppy mouth Natalie.....she said what she said....and the people have the right to dislike it.......her mouth ruined the Dixie Chicks career
4. Natalie said the she was ashamed that she was from Texas because the President was from there too. (George Bush) I happened to agree with her choice of words, but the public just wouldn't let it go. Whatever happened to free speech??
