- cook it until it dies and the feathers are on fire
- Depends on if it's boneless chicken breast or bone-in chicken pieces.
- Until it is tender.
- off the bone or still on the bone?
- man do it it like me and go buy it at a restauraunt and put it on a plate and say u made it.
- Well I dont know how the heck u bbq chicken in a skillet. I have done it in the oven, but never on a stove top...good luck with that.

- You cant cook a whole chicken on a skillet...it simply wont work and wont cook the inside but will just burn the outside with you trying. Put it in the oven.
- Why in a skillet. Put it in the oven for about 45 to 55 minutes covered in foil it will taste great
- cook it till its white all through, dont use high heat but a medium flame becasue you dont waNt to burn the outside while the middle is raw. just cut it through to check it. make sure you puncture the meat for the marinade to soak into the meat, and when barbecue saucing it make sure you puncture it then too so sauce soaks into it.
- In a SKILLET???? You are MARINADING IT??? Do you have a grill bro? At least BROIL it. Boil it first, til its done, then broil it to get the BBQ sauce baked/cooked onto it. For about 4 minutes each side, but that is after it is done. I'm in Texas and sometimes I take it for granted that not all people cook over fire 5 times a week like i do. Good Luck!
- Why do you have to cook it in a skillet? You can bake it in the oven. Put it in a pan with the BBQ sauce and sesonings on it cover it with foil and bake for about 30-40 min on 375. So Good!
- I roll the chicken in seasoned flour (salt, pepper in flour), then brown in an iron skillet with about 1/2-inch pure vegetable oil or shortening. Drain on paper towels. Return browned chicken to a clean iron skillet with a layer of your favorite barbeque sauce in the bottom. Pour more sauce over all chicken. Cover skillet and simmer on low for 20-30 minutes or until done.
- Cook it slow until the juices from the chicken are no longer red. The time will vary depending on the size of pieces and if they are boneless. You could always use a slow cooker/crockpot and cook it all day and it will come out very moist.
- I say real men cook on the grill, you should be able to cook it in some light olive oil or vagtable oil and then flip it a few times and on the last flip put the BBQ sauce on it.
- The best way to cook it is covered in sauce and tightly sealed wrapped in foil in the oven. If you cook it in a skillet essentially what you are doing is boiling it in the barbecue sauce and you need a pan that will not stick. Either way it takes about 45 minutes to an hour and you get the same results except the cleanup is easier with the foil method.
- if you are doing the cooking, cook it the way it should be cooked (on the grill). cook it till juices run clear.real bbq does'nt happen in a skillet homes
- Thinking about this one, Chicken is one of those make sure its done type meats, most of the time I am paranoid it will be under cooked. Interested idea though , not sure how you will cook it in a skillet with BBQ type seasonings on it though not sure what type seasons you are using. Skillet usually means fried chicken to me, Maybe the George Forman griddle might be able to do it. Why are you doing in in Skillet and not on a BBQ?
- Brown chicken, add sauce (bottled or homemade), cover, simmer 30 minutes. This is a good recipe for that: http://southernfood.about.com/od/skilletchicken/r/bl40621e.htm
- Cook over medium, cover it at first. You'll know it's done when the juices are no longer pink. Your best bet is a meat thermometer, when it's 165, it's done. If you're cooking different pieces, say a breast and wing, they tend to take different amounts of cooking time. By the way, I do BBQ in my skillet quite a bit depending on the weather and if I just want to put less effort into it, it works just fine. I usually don't put my sauce on until the last 15 minutes of cooking though, I put it on one side, flip it to let that side cook and the sauce cook down, and do the other side and flip.
- Actually, it's impossible to cook BBQ in a skillet. When something is BBQed, it is cooked by the heat and gases of a fire and is not cooked on a direct heat source.
- Wait for sometime, then use a wooden skewer to find out if it's fully cooked.
- dont you have a grill??? i'd put it in the oven then if you dont... put the chicken in the hot skillet to brown then throw in the broiler until the temp reaches 155 then take out and let it rest. it will carry over cook until perfect.
- Interesting. A hybrid BBQ/fried chicken. Could be interesting... I'd go ahead and grill or broil it if I were you. If you want to cook it on the stove, here's a recipe I found. There are probably more out there. http://randomrecipes.blogspot.com/2007/07/stovetop-barbecue-chicken.html
- If you cook it in a skillet then it is called fried chicken . Chicken that is bar-b-qued is cooked on a grille or barbecue ! you don't marinate chicken in barbecue sauce . fry the chicken the put the sauce on after it's done . Simmer the chicken with the sauce on it after it is cooked thoroughly . Raw chicken will give you salmonella .
