Chook Me!

what can fill my empty chicken pen (other than chickens...)?

i have a a chicken pen about 3x3 metres and is surrounded completely with wire mesh (along top and sides and even going underneath the pen itself so absolutely nothing i don't getting in, gets in) and large coop box thing which was designed for use of almost every smallish outside pet. im looking for 2/3 pretty cool and interesting animals of the same species - i was thinking about two medium sized tortoise but then there is the hibernation side of things which could be a bit of a hassle. any other suggestions ? p.s i know by the description of the pen it sounds like a prison, but its not. There are small bushes at the sides, nice green grass cut to a suitable length. very, very shallow water baths for smaller animals in the corner, it really is a lovely coop :) it also has a small gate so it can open up into our main garden. something cool :)

  1. YAY! Even MORE chickens, obviously. Then you maybe you can have chicks too (v. v. cute).
  2. rabbits! :)
  3. Rabbit or pheasants?
  4. You can keep rabbits, and a duck or two (if you add a little kiddie pool or pond). You may be able to keep pheasants, or a pot bellied pig!
  5. 2 Rabbits, maybe 2 ferrets, pidgeons, or game birds (phesants etc)
  6. That sounds ideal for any type of reptile with legs (other than stuff like komodo dragons or crocodiles or really weird stuff like that), I have a friend who lives on a farm (not suprising as I live in suffolk) and they keep ducks and geese in the same kind of pens as their chickens, the ducks are awesome but the geese are so noisy that I wouldn't really recommend them. Hope this helped ;)
  7. Nothing much. In the winter it gets too cold for anything. Also animals can get to it. Bunnies, guinea pigs, and ferrets can get eaten or frozen, and reptiles will freeze too. If you have indoor shelter though, for the winter, it'll work. :)
