What is the safest way to put a beer can in the chickensbutt?

it's for a recipe. it says to but a beer can (half empty) in the chickens body cavity through the butt end. but what is the safest way. I don't want to hurt the chicken :(

2. There are actually little stands that hold the can up and you slide the turkey down over it... http://www.amazon.com/Bayou-Classic-0880-PDQ-Stainless-Steel-ChickCAN/dp/B0009JXYR8 Or I suppose you can just slide yoru chicken over the can without the holder and hope it doesn't fall over.
3. You don't. You empty out about 1/3 can of beer. Set the can in a baking pan with a rim of course. Then, you seat the chicken on the can.
4. well i suggest you trying it on yourself so you no how it feels before you hurt the chicken ..
5. I'd like to suggest plenty of Astroglide.Tie it's beak shut in case it's a screamer, and make sure to choke it afterwards.
