Homemade incubator, what thermostat should I use?

I use a homemade incubator, it works quite well, but I'd like it to keep the temperature a bit more consistent. It's made out of an old fridge. I'm after an good electronic thermostat that'll keep the temperature within a degree of what I set it to, regardless of the room temperature. I need to be able to buy this thermostat within the UK.

  1. Anything that regulates " ... within one degree .." of set-point is likely to be a specialty item. Most commercial applications use a wider 'band' between 'ON' and "OFF" points. You might ask at a heating /plumbing supply house for a unit with adjustible set points that can handle the current and voltage the heater you use requires.
  2. Most local hardware stores have a universal thermostat. - no big deal .
